Installation pieces
I have been working on the body brief since before Easter and I am really enjoying it. I love working with the body, there is so many shapes, forms and ideas. It allows you to draw the experience inwards or outwards and I think that it is fascinating. The body is where we live and how we perceive things is different to everyone else. We are affected by the internal and external factors in are world and it makes us up to who we are. That is why no two people in the world are the same not even twins, and I think this is magical. I really do! I am getting to deep now and this is what sculpture does to you. We shed light on the dark, make the invisible visible. Sculpture to me is looking at things from a deeper perspective and having the ability to manipulate it. Always with my art work I found I was not happy to just do a painting BORRRRING! I wanted it to come alive, what if I was in that painting? or making flowers in ceramics again this does not please me. I am looking for something more deeper than what they could offer. I love taking over space, I love thinking about the impossible. I want to bring an experience to the eyes of my viewers, I want them to feel things or that my work reminds them of an experience. I want it to be different to every person because every person is different. I do not like my work to be one set thing, sometimes it drives me mad knowing it can only be this and this only. For some reason that idea drives me nuts!
