A month long celebration of art in Bahrain

I went to Bahrain for the Easter my dad is currently living over there. I found an exhibition that was on going at that time and I went to see the work displayed. They had sculptures, paintings, murals and photography. I found there pieces most interesting but what really annoyed me was the discretion. Living in a western Europe were everybody speaks their mind and nothing is held back I was annoyed as a budding artist you cant help but want to know more. Culture got in the way which is a sad thing really, there was a lot of great pieces. I found out that they take on students for three months to study in the country, I was very interested and I could do this anytime because my dad lives there but I don t want to waste a few months studying in a country when I could do it at anytime because it is available to me. My one concern is the culture, would it hold me back with regards to the way I work. But every experience benefits us and if we did not have them we would not be able to think and draw are own experiences back into are work. But I have been trying to upload photos on the exhibition since I got back but they are on my phone and I cant figure it out. I will definitely be putting them up once I figure it out. It was a really good experience and very nice to talk to my lecture Mike Canning about my experience he is very knowledgeable. I just want his brain!
