Felt making

I really enjoyed the felt making last Tuesday! It was strange and felt weird but their is something organic and natural about the process that draws me towards it. I was very interested to find out that we do not use sheep wool in Ireland. It is imported from Australia, this did not suprise me! Ireland is backwards when it comes to most things and fashion is one! Which explains why I got my tights wripped off me walking down Limerick. The poor knackers would not know what to do with a bit of style if it hit them in the face, the only way they know is to destroy it and they did just that. But they did not destroy me, still walking tall! Irish sheep wool is used to insulate attics and housing in Ireland apparently the wool is too thick to be used and fluffy! I tried to hide the disgust on my face! Am I the only one who think importing wool from a country with a warmer climate is weird, especially when we live in the stuff. I was amazed to find out that 80 percent of most clothes are made from wool. Liz from the fashion departement taught us alot that Tuesday! She reminds me of Meryl Streep in devil wears Prada (blue jumper scene) she knows her stuff and if I continue to study Fashion I look forward to studying with her for the next three years. Felt making felt like rolling wet tissue to the point were it is soggy, it was a strange feeling but it looked nice when it dried!
