Brief - 1 week - Sculptures to fix to the body
This is a one week project based on the body again (Mike Canning and his body briefs) dont ask! I found this one week project to be fun, challenging and uncomfortable in many ways. I felt alot of the things I have done before I was revisiting. I decided to do something completely different. After working on the Hunt Museum project that Sarah gave us I found a connection with chairs. Keeping her brief in mind I used the idea of the chair as an object to fix to my body.

The Hunt Museum - Statement - Three week brief
Statement - The Hunt Museum - Sem 2
The Brush Chair
A chair combined with a medieval H comb from the 15th century to create a unique design. The back was taken off the chair and the wood was split into sections to make it look like a comb. Sticking to the original design of the ''H'' comb I decided to leave the top of the chair thinner compared to the bottom. To give it the same appearance as the comb but it is a chair.
A glass flower
A long time ago flowers were pressed to mark a chapter of a book or to keep happy memories alive. I wanted to preserve this beauty and not let it be hidden in a dusty book that might be recovered in another ten years. You can see the delicacy of these flowers through the glass without touching them and the locket with the pressed flower which I seen from behind glass inspired me to recreate this.

7th May - Hunt Museum Brief - Plan
I am currently working with two ideas from the hunt museum project. I started with a few but as time is not on my side this week, I have made record of my other ideas and will push on with the two I am working on. I have combined the medieval "H" comb with a chair and remade a new version of this medieval piece. My second object was a locket with a pressed flower inside it and this reminded me of my childhood. I would always find pressed flowers in my Nana's books and I always found them pretty. I combined crushed flowers in resin placing it in a glass and waited for it to set. I found a new way to expose these pressed flowers instead of placing them in a book. Bringing light to their beauty as they decay in front of us. I would love to try this with different flowers during the week ! Hopefully I have enough time. My chair is in the process of
being made and the pictures of my work will be updated! Pictures of my pressed sunflowers can be found on my blog already.
